NOTE:  Effective Fall 2017, students are no longer being accepted into the Youth Services Specialist certificate program. Prospective students are encouraged to explore the Advanced Certificate in Information Studies and Technology which provides specialized, customized training beyond the master's degree.

This certificate is designed for professionals already holding a master's degree from an ALA-accredited program or a graduate degree closely related to this specialization. This program meets the interests of students planning public library careers with a focus on youth populations.

The program must be completed within five years.
